My friends call me George, I’m a number cruncher, and for all intensive conclusions, my life is conclusively boring. If it wasn’t for the occasional fraud case that comes into the office, I would really have nothing of note to blab about. But all that was about to change.

You understand what an apple peeler is don’t you? In case you don’t, they are a rather ingenious invention. You take your selection of fruit, set it inside this tiny core spike, tighten the other end down on it by turning the handle, until the hide comes all the way off, which leaves a wildly nice looking spiral. The wonderful apple peeler corer can be a great tool and an even a completely odd piece of evidence.

I know, your probably saying to yourself, what the heck is he chatting about. Well, it all started last Sunday with my neighbor, Mrs. Gerry. She had a pattern for permeating the air with the beautiful fragrance of pies, almost all year long.

So, here we were absorbing in the fresh smell of pie and strangely, no Mrs. Gerry anywhere. It turns out someone had smashed into her house and stole her tv set. The only thing the police could see that concerned them, was an antique apple peeler, that had some stains on it and a freshly baked pie tossed out on the kitchen floor.

What a tragedy, the pie lost and poor Mrs. Gerry nowhere to be discovered. We hadn’t heard a thing, on the time in question, and the police appeared like they were at a loss, at least for now. It turns out, that a few of the neighbors and myself assumed ourselves as detectives, and the previous week had been a proverbial who done it.
