Master Cleanse: The Secrets To Success

During my research into fasting, I came across the Master Cleanse diet, it appears to be a very popular one and is considered pretty solid. Most recently it was brought into the media’s attention again by Beyonce giving credit to the cleanse for their getting into shape.

Reports of other’s experiences were very encouraging to me and gave me an idea of what to expect. I contacted a few people about thier experiences with the master cleanse and some did not get past day 2 or 3 which appears to be where most stumble. I’ve fasted in the past and never could last without eating at all as most fasts require. The master cleanse at least allows some nourishment (the drink used for cleansing which uses lemons is why it is also known as the lemonade diet.)

The premise is simple, but simple does not equal easy.. Even with so few rules to follow it can be trying due to the will power required to get past the first few days. Though I found a great book called the Master Cleanse Secrets that gives lots of tips & advice to make it much, much easier.

One thing touted is the weight loss from the diet but that was never my main concern. I did it for the toxin cleansing benefits. I’d been really run down lately and had read too many accounts of how mcuh better one can feel after fasting. That made me decide to give it one more chance.

From what I’ve been reading the typical amount of time spent on the master cleanse diet is ten days, although it is not uncommon for people to stay on the cleanse for longer periods of time. I had no intention of going longer than 5 days as a trial run to see how I reacted. Having never gotten past 48 hours in the past I am proud of my trial.

I have to give credit to the secrets book. It was a great resource that kept me going when I hit a sticking point . Just from reading it I had much more confidence in my chance of success. That confidence translated into success.

Another good thing was the timing was perfect as I had recently spoken with my doctor about fasting. If you are thinking of trying this or any kind of fast you should definitely clear things with your doctor first. It’s your health don’t play games.

The final verdict: I feel much better after the 5 days and I am considering doing it again. Next time I will shoot for the full ten days. One suggestion I can offer is to take it easy when trasnitioning back into eating (the secrets book gives excellent guidance on this.)
